If you are a UK Tax payer (Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax only; not VAT and Council Tax) you can agree to register for the HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) Gift Aid Scheme. This will help the Project to claim an additional 25p in the £1 from the Tax Office from the sale by the Project of your donated furniture and household items or for any supplementary monetary donations you make.
There is no cost to you; it simply needs your agreement confirming you have paid, or will pay, an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for the current tax year (6th April to 5th April) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all Charities and Community Amateur Sports Club to which you donate will reclaim on your gifts for the current tax year.
You will need to advise Glossopdale Furniture Project if you wish to cancel the declaration at any time, change your name or home address, or no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and / or capital gains.
Donated goods
To satisfy the HMRC rules for Gift Aid you agree that any donated items will be sold by the Project on your behalf as your agent. It is only after their sale that the Project can claim the Gift Aid refund from HMRC. Any unsold goods may be disposed of by the Project as they see fit.
If the amount raised from the sale of your items returns £100 or more during the tax year, you will be contacted and offered the value over that £100 from the sale of goods, less 50% commission to cover collection, warehouse storage costs, office administration or any additional charge levied to cover any repair work.
All proceeds from the sale of your goods, and any supplementary monetary donations you may wish to make, go towards supporting those less fortunate, disadvantaged or in need in the community of the High Peak.
Please complete the form below to confirm your application to support Glossopdale Furniture Project to Gift Aid all income raised from the sale of your donated items.
